It’s always nice to head back for some Alrewas Hayes Country House wedding photography, and I was thoroughly looking forward to Nick & Emma’s wedding back in June. I think it’s safe to say that the couple were keen to capture as much of their day as possible so I went along with a second photographer, and with the couple requesting photography AND video highlights it was always going to be a busy day! Alrewas Hayes is absolutely perfect for weddings and really does have everything a bride could need to get ready there. The room was a hive of activity when I arrived and Emma, along with her bridesmaids and flower girl, were in full preparation mode. I was able to capture hair and make up and Emma putting her dress on – she looked absolutely stunning – along with lots of special moments; bridal prep is just the best for this!
With all the guests arriving and Nick and his groomsmen having their last-minute pre-match huddle (!) it was time for Emma to make her entrance through the large wooden doors to walk down the aisle with her dad. Nick’s reaction to seeing his bride was perfect, he looked completely overwhelmed but did well to keep it all together! The ceremony had readings from guests and the couple exchanged their vows and rings in front of all their family and friends, before signing the register and walking down the aisle as Mr & Mrs.
I absolutely love the photo of Nick & Emma as they’ve just left the room and walked out into the courtyard at Alrewas Hayes – don’t think their smiles could be any wider! We took the opportunity to have some couple shots in front of the country house before the couple went back to greet their guests and get showered in confetti! With a few more shots taken in the quickly cleared ceremony room, Nick & Emma were then introduced to the marquee as Mr & Mrs Littlemore to rapturous applause. With each table having a Chief Carver there was plenty of banter and photo opportunties on offer during the meal, and then the speeches. I really do love how speeches have such a wide range of emotions- love, happiness, pride, excitement, sadness, embarrassment – you name it, it’s there in these speeches!
One reason I love Alrewas Hayes country house wedding photography are the extensive grounds and varied backdrops that are at your fingertips, especially for couple portraits. Nick & Emma were keen to make the most of their wedding venue and the couple shots we took look absolutely stunning but also so much fun! It was then time to head back for the wedding reception, with the cake cutting and the first dance, complete with dry ice! The dancefloor was fairly rowdy from then on in, with many (male!) guests ending up without their shirts on!
Nick & Emma, you were an absolute pleasure to capture on your wedding day and I had a fantastic time with you and your guests. Thank you so much for booking me and I know you will have a lifetime of love and happiness together!
