Okay, I hold my hands up, this wedding really got me! I mean, it’s safe to say that I am a man who wears his heart on his sleeves most of the time (I’m always the one crying at the end of the film, not my wife..!) but usually I manage to hold it together when I’m working. However, Freddie & Matt, you broke me! I had proper tears on more than one occasion, and it’s all your fault! You guys are frickin’ awesome, you have been through so much together and you are so strong and SO in love – and add into the mix your amazing friends and family….well, it is safe to say I loved your wedding!!!
My day started with bridal prep, with a busy house, lots of organisation and so many touching moments. Freddie and her “bride tribe” looked absolutely amazing, and the reactions to Freddie in her dress were priceless. The morning passed by in a whirl and soon it was time for the beautiful bride to put on *that* veil (seriously, check it out, it was AMAZING!) and for the bridal party to make their way to the church. My second shooter, Chris, had been busy capturing Matt and his groomsmen getting ready at the reception venue, the stunning Alrewas Hayes….the men all looked very dapper in their suits, however I do think it was the pageboys who stole the show, super cute…and VERY excited about the transport to the church – a proper London double-decker bus!
The church was beautiful and set the scene for a really touching and personal ceremony for Matt & Freddie. I love the shot of Matt seeing Freddie for the first time at the top of the aisle, you guys are just too cute! Vows made, rings exchanged and soon the newlyweds were being introduced as Mr & Mrs Cox. Outside the church the odd gust of wind really showed Freddie’s veil off to the absolute max! 🙂 The confetti shot also proved to be a lot of fun….for everyone except Freddie & Matt’s gorgeous son, who was less than impressed bless him.
And then it was time for all the guests to jump aboard the bus and head to the reception venue. With the weather absolutely glorious, Freddie & Matt’s family and friends had full use of Alrewas Hayes’ outside courtyard, for drinks, chatting and plenty of games, and the whole afternoon was relaxed, chilled out and plenty of fun! Mr & Mrs Cox entered their wedding breakfast to rapturous applause and a standing ovation, cut the cake before the meal and then were serenaded by some awesome singing waiters….well, it started off as being serenaded, but soon ended up raucous, dancing on the tables, conga kind of singing – absolutely brilliant! The speeches were funny, witty, heartfelt and emotional (…not just for me…sniff!) and just fully cemented the notion of just how perfect Freddie & Matt are for one another! They then did their first dance (with a little help from their son) and while their guests danced the night away they managed to sneak away for some beautiful couple shots, first time ever I’ve had the couple upstaged by the tiniest frogs you could ever imagine!
So Matt & Freddie, you absolutely nailed your wedding day! Enjoy your wedding photos, enjoy your marriage and above all I wish you a very happy, very healthy life together. I think it’s safe to say you deserve it. Thanks for having me along to capture your beautiful wedding, I had an absolute blast (and I’m sorry for crying so much!!) xx
