Country Club wedding photography – Amelia & Martin

Hurrah – a wedding that didn’t involve us diving in and out of the venue to avoid getting really wet, seems like it’s been the first one this year for Amelia & Martin’s country club wedding photography! Although having said that, the ground at Branston was still fairly flooded – but that just meant I was able to capture some awesome reflection shots so I was a happy man! What an amazing day Amelia & Martin planned and it really lived up to expectations for all their guests. The morning was already in full swing by the time I arrived to capture Amelia’s morning preparations with hair and makeup underway. I really do love the morning of a wedding, so much excitement, planning, last-minute stresses but always so much love and fondness between the bridal party. I love Amelia’s dad’s face when he sees his daughter coming down the stairs looking stunning in her wedding dress – with a daughter of my own I can only imagine that feeling, proper emotional! Amelia & her party travelled to the church in style and very quickly it was time for the ceremony to start.
Amelia & Martin had requested a second photographer and I think they’re really glad they did. This meant they have memories captured from both Amelia’s AND Martin’s preparations in the morning and it was particularly important to them to capture both Martin’s reaction at the top of the aisle (he gets lots of groom points for showing his emotional side – let’s face it, every bride wants their soon-to-be husband to well up when they see them walking towards them!!) and Amelia with her dad walking down the aisle. I love the different perspectives of the same event which can be shot with a second photographer and really captures the emotion of the moment! The whole ceremony was a real family affair, with sisters, nephews, nieces and of course, Amelia & Martin’s gorgeous son all playing important roles.
With the weather so pleasant, after the new Mr & Mrs Ferguson had walked down the aisle we took the opportunity to take some more formal shots outside the church as well as reportage photography which my couples always love to look through as it’s all the moments that are missed on the day! With the sun shining brightly we went back inside for some awesome couple shots too, it really was like the spotlight was shining on Amelia and Martin! After that, the newlyweds and their guests all headed over to Branston Golf & Country Club for their reception. As with every opportunity at Branston I’ve had to shoot country club wedding photography, the decoration, food and staff were absolutely amazing. Amelia & Martin’s wedding reception felt like a party as soon as the happy couple arrived and that continued all the way through the night. We even managed to make the most of the sunset that looked glorious across the golf course. By the evening the party was really in full swing and guests really went to town with my photo booth that Amelia & Martin had also booked – it’s always guaranteed to get even the shyest of guests to strut their stuff in a funny wig with random props, I absolutely love looking through photo booth shots!! What more can I say – the party was epic!
Amelia & Martin’s wedding was an absolutely amazing affair and I am so privileged that they asked me to capture their country club wedding photography. Thank you so much guys, and I hope you love the photos as much as I do. I wish you a lifetime of happiness, you are perfect for each other!
