I absolutely love these two! Their day really felt like attending a friends’ wedding instead of just capturing their Barton Marina wedding photography. It helped that I knew quite a few of the guests as I had photographed Oggy’s brother’s wedding just a few months before…always the best compliment is when family and friends of a wedding I have previously shot at book me for their wedding 🙂 and what a wedding it was, non stop fun and laughs!!
My day started capturing bridal prep with Le and her eight bridesmaids (a proper Bride Tribe!) AND a flower girl. It was a very busy morning with hair and make up as you can imagine! Le’s family and friends were so warm and welcoming and capturing them all getting ready, with the backdrop of Le’s parents’ house was awesome – the artwork and furnishings were really unique and cool for backgrounds! Unique and cool is pretty much a good description for this whole wedding, Le & Oggy definitely did things their way, from fun Landrovers for their wedding cars to the bride going barefoot all day 🙂 I don’t think Le knows just how stunning she looked in her gorgeous wedding dress, but hopefully the reactions of her bridesmaids and her dad when she came down the stairs made her feel pretty special!
Meanwhile, my second photographer was with the boys, a slightly smaller affair with 3 groomsmen and his brother as best man, but busy and full of fun nevertheless! Love the photos when Oggy presented them all with their gifts – an ‘Andrew Ogden Fan Club” t shirt, some pretty exclusive merchandise there! They were all super organised and headed to the venue with plenty of time (in the Landrover!) to welcome the guests to the wedding venue at Barton Marina.
When Le & her bridal party arrived at the venue, there were some last minute guests arriving and the bride squad did a great job of all surrounding Le with a huge cuddle so they couldn’t see her! I love the photos of the flowers and you can see just how vibrant the flowers were – so many gorgeous colours and varieties. I think it’s safe to say that the ceremony itself was an emotional one. I think it’s times like this that makes me really appreciate how privileged I am to witness two people making their vows to one another and also b) how valued the photographs will be in the future. When you’re in the moment, and emotions are running high, it is easy to forget the little moments, and not realise how magical your wedding day is. Hopefully the photographs I deliver will help you relive the magic, and appreciate how gorgeous the pair of you are together, starting your life as Mr & Mrs 🙂
After the ceremony, the drinks starting flowing, and Le & Oggy took a little bit of time out for some couple shots using the gorgeous surroundings of Barton Marina. With confetti and group shots completed (not your normal tradition type photos), most of the guests headed back inside while the bridal party hung around, looking cool draped on top, around, against the wedding cars! Honestly, I love large wedding parties, especially ones who all seem to know each other so well – it’s often chaos at the time, but the photos are always epic and so much fun (just take a look at the ones by the water’s edge a little later on in the evening!!)
It was then time for the wedding breakfast, and as ever, the Crow’s Nest was decorated beautifully and the staff went out of their way to provide an amazing meal for the couple and their guests. With the buffet eaten, it was time for the speeches, from Le’s dad, Oggy, his brother as best man and Le’s maid of honour too. So many laughs and tears (in a good way!) I love capturing guests’ reactions during the speeches, particularly the top tables’! The party was definitely in full swing from that moment on, with the cake cutting and first dance signalling the dance floor open – I don’t think Le & Oggy stopped dancing the whole night long
Le & Oggy, your wedding was amazing, and you two are absolutely made for each other. You are beautiful people, both inside and out, and I sincerely hope these memories here help you realise how frickin’ awesome you both are! Congratulations for absolutely smashing your wedding day, I wish you a lifetime of happiness!
