The beginning of October meant a return to visit to my favourite Derbyshire Industrial wedding venue – The West Mill – for Celtina & Chris’ wedding day. This venue really does have everything a couple needs for their wedding, from dedicated rooms for getting ready, to separate areas for the ceremony and wedding breakfast, and add in the exclusive-use element and the awesome industrial original features, it was no surprise that Celtina and Chris were super excited about getting married there! With the ceremony not starting until mid-afternoon it meant that bridal prep could happen at a rather steadier pace, with Celtina, her parents, her maid of honour and two bridesmaids making the most of the wonderful space that The Dressing Room provides for the bridal team. A special moment was when Celtina read the letter that Chris had written her to read before their wedding, which caused plenty of tears, especially when it was combined with the adorable message he sent Celtina’s mum too! It was lovely to capture the reactions of the bridesmaids, and her father, when Celtina was ready in her gorgeous wedding dress.
With the last minute preps taking place I was able to head to The Cotton Quarter to capture the guests arriving, and Chris with his groomsmen. Chris had the opportunity to read the letter that Celtina had written him (full of Star Wars references and so funny, ‘Yo-da best’), looking almost regal in one of the many awesome leather chairs The West Mill have placed around the venue and then it was time for the ceremony. Celtina was accompanied down the aisle by both her mother and her father, and Chris’ face was just lovely when he saw his bride for the first time. The ceremony was very emotional, with readings from family and friends and vows exchanged by Chris & Celtina. In front of their family and friends they were announced as Mr & Mrs Taylor and walked down the aisle to the beautiful sounds of the tw0-piece band.
The weather outside was windy but not too wet so we were able to get the confetti shot which was quite wild. Everyone was able to hang around enjoying the amazing food that the West Mill provides and while their guests enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, we were able to get some group portraits with the wedding party who were so much fun. It was then Chris & Celtina turn to have some fun mixed in with cuddles and kisses and we got some great photos and they are clearly made for each other. A special mention must go to their gorgeous son, who was feeling slightly under the weather, but was so super cute the whole day through! Love getting shots of the happy couple and their children, it’s always such a special memory to capture!
They were then welcomed as newlyweds back into the West Mill and the speeches were before the meal. Chris bravely had two best men to dish the dirt but it was full of plenty of humour and lots of laughs! The food as ever at this Derbyshire industrial wedding venue was amazing and afterwards, we were able to make use of the upper level at the West Mill which is so super cool, absolutely amazing for capturing awesome shots! It’s fair to say that Chris and Celtina’s wedding cake was….less than traditional (check it out below!) but it suited their personalities perfectly and then it was time for the first dance (Celtina’s Converse trainers definitely came in handy!) The party had well and truly started then and the night was absolutely bouncing!
Big shout out to Jade one of the bridesmaids and her partner and usher Haydon who did a great job of helping us get an awesome shot in the dark in the courtyard – an absolutely epic way to end an awesome day. Celtina & Chris your wedding day was absolutely perfect for you both, you guys are so chilled and laid back, and you really are perfect for one another. I had a brilliant time capturing your wedding day and I hope you love the photos as much as I do! I really do wish you a lifetime of happiness!
