I guess in Spring we are to expect the odd drizzly day, and Emily & Simon’s wedding day in early May was just that, but it definitely didn’t dampen any spirits. The bridal party were full of excitement getting ready at the venue, and with Simon also getting ready there, the whole place was a hive of activity. The Threshing Barn looked absolutely stunning, and it was a delight to see the beautiful flowers supplied by the very talented florist from the same village I live in (check out her link in my suppliers list below). The rain didn’t deter the guests or wedding party, making the most of the gorgeous rustic venue and, with the help of a few large umbrellas, mostly managed to avoid getting wet.
Simon was incredibly emotional throughout the whole ceremony and who could blame him – Emily looked absolutely amazing in her gorgeous wedding dress and their love for one another just shone through. With personalised readings and romantic vows made to each other, they were soon being introduced down the aisle as husband and wife. Luckily the rain had stopped so the confetti could be thrown and the garden game entertainment could be well and truly utilised, whilst we were able to photos of the newlyweds and also some shots with the rest of the wedding party (I love the shots of the bridesmaids and ushers ‘helping’ me with a particular veil shot, soooo funny!)
It was then time for the delicious meal and awesome speeches, Park Farmhouse always provide amazing food and again the menu didn’t disappoint! With everyone else relaxing into the evening (and signing there epic wedding ski/signing book) we took Emily & Simon for an evening stroll to get some time to themselves and a few more pics, then the cake was cut, the first dance opened the dance floor and then the party got started! We even managed to squeeze in fun sparkler action and some absolutely epic umbrella rain shots
Emily & Simon, thank you SO much for asking me to capture your wedding day, you and your guests made me feel so welcome and it was such an enjoyable day. You guys are perfect for one another, and I wish you a lifetime of happiness together.
