Moxhull Hall Wedding Photography
You might have guessed by now but I am an absolute romantic and love a good love story so when Katie told me her Moxhull Hall Wedding was going to be a celebration of getting married to her childhood sweatheart…well, I knew we were going to be in for a good day! Katie & Adam have known each other for more of their life than they haven’t and their love for each other was evident in both the way they were with each other AND their gorgeous boy – a bundle of energy who I met during their engagement shoot and just the cutest little boy in the world (aside from mine, obviously!)
It isn’t often that logistics and timings allow me to capture both the bride AND the groom getting ready for the big day so it always feels extra special when I get to see behind-the-scenes at both preparations! My day started with Katie and her bridal party having hair and makeup done by Sian & Rachel from Rachel Lamey Hair & Beauty. Not that there was much improvement to be done but they did a stunning job and it was soon time for the Big Reveal. There are many moments at weddings which I love, but one of my absolute favourites is when the Father of the Bride gets to see his daughter in her wedding dress for the first time. Katie had already prepped me that this was an important moment that she definitely wanted capturing and both her and her Dad’s emotions when he saw her walking down the stairs is just beautiful. The bridesmaids were equally emotional as they opened their eyes to see Katie in her stunning dress from White Rose of Rugeley & Stafford. On to groom preparation which I typically find is always a lot more relaxed and a lot less organised than the bride’s preparations, and Adam and his groomsmen were no exception to the rule! You can always rely on the older ones to be in charge of tying the ties (or me, I’ve got quite good at different knots since becoming a wedding photographer!!) and you can always rely on there being a beer or two on the go – for purely medicinal reasons and/or to steady the nerves of course!! Katie & Adam’s son stole the show there all dressed up in his formal wear…. and joining in the ‘cheers’ with the men too!
St Michael’s Church in Brereton is a beautiful setting for a wedding and the flowers from Lynne @Fine Flowers made it even more so. The look on Adam’s face when he saw his bride was just ace – another moment during the day which I absolutely love both to witness, and to capture. The ceremony was as romantic as you would imagine for two childhood sweethearts and there were plenty of tears of happiness and joy. With the register signed and the confetti thrown, it was time for the celebrations to continue at Moxhull Hall.
Moxhull Hall
As a Victorian mansion, set within acres of beautiful gardens, I am always delighted to capture Moxhull Hall Wedding Photography! The attention to detail of the venue; on the house decor itself, the gardens, the wedding decorations, the staff, the FOOD! Just simply excellent in every way and I think it served Katie and Adam with a wedding reception they will truly remember! Arriving in style in a 1956 Silver Clod Rolls Royce by Blushing Brides, the happy couple were blessed with weather good enough to make the most of the gorgeous grounds, with a drinks reception and giant games (for kids young and old!). After mingling with their guests it was time for some formal shots – I think this will always be remembered for bridesmaids attempting to (and eventually managing to) lift Adam in a comedy pose! Following the group shots it was time for the receiving line – which is a tradition that seems to be fading out but I really love it (and from experience of my own wedding, a really good way to make sure you actually get to speak to absolutely everyone at your wedding, it is such a whirlwind on the day!) As you can imagine, having known each other for practically forever, the speeches were incredibly personal and a lovely mixture of humour and emotion. Once they were finished it was time for the food which, as always at Moxhull looked, smelt (and tasted!) amazing! With the guests well fed and watered Katie & Adam were able to sneak off to make the most of the beautiful sunset that was happening – I love couple shots and I love sunsets – perfect! The grounds around Moxhull Hall are so diverse we were able to get some epic shots with lots of different backgrounds – I would have a hard time choosing my favourite!! The only things that were left after that was cutting the cake – supplied by Amerton Cakes, which was so detailed and precise it looked like a work of art – and the first dance. I think you would have to have a heart of stone if you didn’t feel a lump in your throat watching Katie & Adam, helped by their little boy, dance their first dance as Mr & Mrs.
I always ask my couples what the most important thing about their day is, and what they want their photographs to show from their Wedding Day. Katie & Adam simply said “Love. Laughter. Happiness. Family. Friends”….I think you’ll agree they absolutely fulfilled their wedding wishes!! Congratulation guys, it was an amazing day!
