Kevin & Sue’s Branston Golf & Country Club Wedding

September was an incredibly busy month for me and it started off with the Branston Golf & Country Club Wedding of Kevin & Sue – two nicer people you would be hard pressed to find! The morning started for me capturing Sue and her bridal team getting ready. Hair and make up done earlier, Sue was surrounded be her family, and as typical Mum she spent a great deal of the morning organising the others before herself. It was really touching to see Sue helping her sons get ready and then them in turn helping their mum with her dress. Sue’s neice’s daughter (great-neice?!) was the gorgeous flower girl and there was lots of really lovely moments as the family altogether got ready excitedly! The flowers that Sue has chosen were absolutely stunning, they were so vibrant and vivid, in contrast to the wedding dress, making them stand out beautifully. Sue’s shoes matched perfectly too and her whole outfit looked absolutely amazing. The excitement rose even further when it was time for the transport to arrive. Both Kevin & Sue are Mini mad so it was no surprise that they had hired classic Minis to take the wedding party to Lichfield Registry Office. With Sue and her team ready, I left ahead of them to meet an excited but a bit nervous Kevin at the venue. The room had been decorated beautifully with the same vibrant pink and with the natural light that came streaming in I was really excited about capturing the ceremony.

With all the guests arrived and safely inside the registry office, Sue and the bridal party arrived in their Minis and it was time for the ceremony to start! Sue was accompanied down the aisle by her sons and the thing that really stood out for me throughout the whole service was how smiley everyone was! Kevin & Sue are obviously so very much in love and it was a pleasure to capture the moment when they became Mr & Mrs. With the ceremony over it was time to make the most of the balmy September weather and take some photographs of the newlyweds. With Beacon Park being so close it would have been crazy not to use it as a backdrop for some photographs. And of course the Minis took pride of place too (even if we did get told to remove them pretty swiftly by the Park Wardens, oops!) The majority of the guests then headed to their Branston Golf & Country Club wedding reception but Kevin & Sue stayed behind for some couple shots – I particularly loved their shoes and we took some great shots of them.

The guests then welcomed the new Mr & Mrs Parr to Branston Golf & Country Club and I took the opportunity to take shots of the room that had been set up for an afternoon tea which Kevin & Sue had thoughtfully decorated with quaint details still using the bright fuscia pink colour scheme. Then it was time for a golf buggy adventure! The Branston Golf & Country Club wedding team had ensured there were golf buggies to take Kevin & Sue to picturesque parts of the golf course to take some couple portraits there. I’m surprised I managed to get any photos in focus of them on the buggy as I was on another buggy being driven by a member of staff! It’s absolutely stunning by the lake and I got some beautiful photos of the newlyweds there…even if they were photobombed by a swan!

It was time for the afternoon tea and this was a real intimate affair at the Pavilion at Branston Golf & Country Club. I think because of this I really felt part of the celebrations… which did lead to quite a few random photographs and a photobombing competition which culminated in the ultimate photobomb of the cake cutting! After the food, Kevin & Sue were keen for some more portrait photographs so we ventured out onto the grounds again and found a beautiful area with gorgeous light as the sun had decided to make an appearance in the evening! The only thing we had to be wary of was stray golf balls as we were right next to a hole! Luckily, the shots I got were memorable for showing the love Kevin & Sue have for each other, rather than for any nasty head injuries! The newlyweds had invited more guests for the evening and so it was soon time for the cake cutting and first dance. It was just so lovely to watch two such lovely people start their married life together, Kevin & Sue are absolutely made for each other and clearly make each other so happy. I feel honoured to have been part of their wedding day 🙂
