My first wedding of 2018 – and what a special one it was to photograph Lara & Greg and their Branston Golf & Country Club wedding! With the ceremony taking place in Rolleston, it was opposite the church where the morning started, with preparations for all the bridal party taking place in The Old Refectory (which was as beautiful and historical as the name suggests!) Meanwhile, the men were busy getting organised (lots of lists!) ahead of the ceremony at Rolleston church, which was decorated beautifully for the occasion. With the weather holding (at least for this point of the day!) Lara and her team were able to walk across the road to the church ready for the ceremony, much to the delight of passers-by.
With all the guests ready, and filling the church completely, Lara was escorted down the aisle by her brother, and the (very well behaved!) dog, Poppy. Greg’s face was so full of pride and love when he saw Lara walking down the aisle it was so lovely to see. It’s safe to say that the ceremony itself was incredibly emotional and had a really lovely family feel about the whole thing – and not just because Poppy was allowed freedom to roam about however she pleased! With blessings said, Lara and Greg made their way down the aisle as Mr & Mrs Tate and it was at this point in the day, that the weather gods decided to throw us a cheeky March/Spring curveball – it was full on snowing as I was trying to capture some candid & group shots outside the church. Luckily, Lara & Greg’s family and friends are a hardy bunch and were able to smile through it – before dashing off to the Branston Golf Club wedding party (…in the warmth!!)
When the happy couple arrived at their reception venue, the Branston Golf & Country Club wedding team had pulled out all the stops for the decoration, food and service for Lara & Greg. It had a real party atmosphere to the whole event and throughout the meal, speeches, cake cutting and first dance it was just so evident how much love and happiness there was for the couple, and between Lara & Greg themselves too. This truly was an absolutely awesome wedding to kick off 2018 for me and I was genuinely honoured that Lara & Greg chose me to capture their incredibly special day. I wish you a lifetime of happiness together Lara & Greg, you really do truly deserve it.
