I am always happy to travel for weddings and when Stephen & Emma got in touch to enquire about me providing their Leicestershire wedding photography I jumped at the chance. A church wedding followed by a relaxed village hall reception sounded like a beautiful day to me and when I met the future bride and groom for their engagement shoot I knew it was going to be a fun and happy occasion. My day started with Emma and her family and friends getting ready, with makeup and hair prep in full swing. The house was full of life, with three generations busily sorting last minute details and arrangements and I just love the shots of Emma in her dress and her father looking on.
Heading to the church in ‘Trigger’ the VW transport where Stephen and all their guests were waiting eagerly, The sun was shining and created beautiful light in the church for the service and the happy couple were soon beaming as they walked down the aisle announced as Mr & Mrs Hewitt. With bubbles instead of confetti, the newlyweds were congratulated by their family and friends and then were joined by the family dog, who was very excited to see everyone!
As the guests headed to the beautifully decorated Foxton village hall, the happy couple made the most of the glorious spring weather and went for a wander along the canal, capturing some beautiful shots and receiving lots of congratulations from the general public (I really love how seeing a bride and groom always makes everyone smile and be super friendly!)
With the canapes and drinks reception complete, it was time for speeches and toasts. A few years ago I captured John (now best man) and Catherine’s (now bridesmaid) wedding and that was were a first met Stephen & Emma who were then also best man and bridesmaid!. Well now it was time for John to get his own back during the speeches and there was lots of laughter and happy memories. It was then time for the food which looked incredible and then the party really started. With the light fading, we managed to capture a few nice sunset shots before the cake was cut and first dance…and then the silly props and conga dancing took over for an awesome party!
Stephen & Emma, I wish you a lifetime of happiness together! Thank you so much for asking me to capture your wedding, it was an amazing day and I loved every second of it!
