Well this was just a little bit of a special wedding for me! I think it was an absolute first, and probably quite rare in a photographer’s career – but Ben & Sharna’s wedding party included not one, but TWO of my previous couples – it really was like attending a friends’ wedding this one!
Makeney Hall itself is a wonderful venue, especially if you can utilise the outside space as Ben & Sharna were able to do. After getting ready in the bridal suite with her bridesmaids (all 7 of whom photographed in and around the bath no less – clothed of course!) and her mum and dad, Sharna looked absolutely stunning walking down the aisle to meet Ben under the woodland canopy to become Mr & Mrs Holmes. It was such lovely weather that the guests were able to enjoy the outside space of the venue and there were plenty of opportunities for couple shots as well as confetti and group shots.
The Victorian country mansion looked beautiful set up for the wedding breakfast and the food was delicious. I knew that the speeches would be good, having heard the groom and best man speak previously at the best man’s wedding (although obviously their roles were reversed!) It didn’t take the party long to get started in the evening, check out the dancefloor shots, as well as the sparkler and evening couple shots too, they look absolutely epic, my particular fave being a rare photo of ME at a wedding, with all 3 couples picking me up like a bride!
Ben & Sharna (and Inez & Josh, AND Georgie & Freddie!) I bloomin’ love you guys and it was SUCH a great wedding day. I had the best time, you two are perfect for one another and I wish you a lifetime of happiness together. Hope to see you all soon!
