Another wedding where it felt like I was attending the day as a guest rather than a supplier – bookings that are made by guests of previous couples always fills me with gratitude, and I always look forward to those weddings that little bit more. This wedding was of Lee & Sam, who had been present and very much involved in Gemma & Sean’s wedding (with Lee being Sean’s brother and all!) So there were plenty of familiar faces, and a new one to meet in Lee’s gorgeous baby nephew (I always love to hear when previous couples have started a family!)
The day started with all the bridal party busily getting ready, with hair and make up in full swing. After lots of photos, and lots of laughter, I headed off to the wedding venue to capture the groom, but not before I got to see Sam’s dress which was absolutely stunning and she looked absolutely beautiful.
The wedding was taking place at one of my favourite venues, Shustoke Barn, and as I’ve said, it was lovely to recognise so many of the bridal party. The barn itself is always beautifully elegant and the scene when Sam walked down the aisle towards Lee was full of elegance and romance.
With the formalities completed, Mr & Mrs Wood were announced to their guests and the celebrations began. Confetti was thrown, canapes and drinks were taken and plenty of photographs were captured. The wedding team at the Shustoke Barn did a fantastic job at turning the venue round, so it was ready for the wedding breakfast with all the tiny details just perfect. Sam & Lee had decided they didn’t want speeches, so after a quick toast, the meal was enjoyed by everyone.
One thing that I really love about Autumn & Winter weddings (and something which makes up for the lack of sunset quite often!) is that the early nights give me opportunity to play with lights! We spent a fun half hour or so outside with sparklers, creating all kids of shapes around the couple, and later on in the evening I was able to take some awesome shots of the couple using the sparkly lights that are always around in the grounds of Shustoke!
The first dance was had and the party went on late into the evening. Sam & Lee, I had so much fun capturing your wedding, thank you so much for inviting me! I really hope your married life is wonderful, you two are perfect for one another. Congratulations!
