Laughter and smiles are my two abiding memories from this Yeldersley Hall wedding. It’s always a good sign when you’re editing a wedding and you have a massive smile on your face whilst you’re going through all the photos and I certainly did for Richard & Emily’s wedding photographs.
Yeldersley Hall was the setting for this classic, romantic wedding and one of the bedrooms in this stunning English Country House provided a fantastic backdrop for me to capture Emily and her bridesmaids getting ready for the big day. The morning of the wedding can often be a stressful, busy and hectic time but everyone there seemed so chilled and happy it was a pleasure to capture, although I’ve never seen so much mirror hoping from all the ladies!! There was even time for the bridesmaids to present Emily with a beautiful photo album that Richard had prepared full of lots of memories of them – cue the tissues and the wedding hadn’t even started yet! With hair and makeup done and Emily carefully buttoned into her stunning lace dress from Lori G Bridal Studio I had just enough time to visit Richard and his groomsmen as they were doing the typical last-minute preparation of tie-tying and ring-checking! Very soon it was time for the ceremony.
The owner of Yeldersely Hall, Andrew, and his team dedicate the old billiards room to hold the wedding service and with its magnificent oak fireplace guests can’t fail to be impressed by it and the pale lilac and cream accessories complemented it perfectly. The service itself was everything it should be – romantic, meaningful and full of love, with lots of smiles and laughter along the way. Richard and Emily were soon walking down the aisle as Mr & Mrs and, having the good fortune of nice weather, they and their guests spilt out onto the private terrace of Yeldersley Hall, overlooking the extensive grounds for drinks and nibbles.
Yeldersley Hall Wedding
Richard & Emily had put so much thought into individual touches and ways to ensure their guests had a great time and felt included – from giant Jenga and croquet in the garden to organising “The Great Wedding Bake Off” – which, by the way, is an idea I would definitely steal if I were to get married again (to the same wife, obviously!) Guests were invited to make and decorate any kind of cake and bring it along with a brief description (some of which were hilarious!) to have it judged later on in the evening by the couple, caterers and other guests! Another idea I would have loved to steal, (except I don’t think my wife would have gone for this one) was that Richard and Emily brought their dog to the wedding! Clearly a big softie he enjoyed his shady spot under the tree and was even included in the amazing cake by way of a topper (the cake made by Emily’s mum!)
With the weather so beautiful I was able to steal Emily & Richard away for a few moments to make the most of the beautiful sunset and stunning grounds that Yeldersley Hall is situated in and we were able to get some gorgeous couple shots in the formal gardens, walled garden, paddocks and we were even able to make use of the tennis courts as a backdrop for some photographs of ‘love’ (oops, I promised myself I wasn’t going to make a tennis joke….!)
I will repeat my first sentence – laughter and smiles are my two abiding memories from this wedding and this was certainly true of the evening reception. Both the dancefloor and the trampoline were bouncing for young and old and I’m sure lifelong memories were made throughout the evening.
