A beautiful day for a Newton House Barns Wedding

It was back in June when I arrived to capture this Newton House Barns wedding and my day started over at Mercia Marina, where Jack and Hannah live on a houseboat (how cool is that!) To accommodate all the bridal party, they had hired a holiday cottage on site and it was busy with comings and goings all morning – poor Hannah’s dad had to duck outside to go over his speech one last time! With their niece and nephew holding the important roles of flower girl and page boy there was plenty of laughter and games, and eventually everyone was ready to head to the church. Hannah and her dad travelled in style in a vintage car to the gorgeous church in Findern, a small village in Derbyshire with a traditional village green. Jack was already waiting in the beautifully decorated church, anticipating the arrival of his beautiful bride!

The ceremony was emotional – I love Jack’s reaction when he saw Hannah walking down the aisle – and surrounded by friends and family, Jack and Hannah were announced as the new Mr & Mrs Lilley. Following the service, the guests all congregated on the village green (with quite a few villagers making the most of the opportunity to see the bride’s dress and to congratulate the couple!) It was a really relaxed way for Jack and Hannah to thank their guests for coming and to get some love group shots that the couple had requested.

It was then time to head over to Newton House Barns wedding venue for the celebrations to continue. Jack & Hannah had put a lot of thought into decorating the venue, which was elegantly understated, and incredibly personal to the couple. The speeches were made before the wedding breakfast, and the Newton House Barns wedding team really pulled out all the stops to ensure the newlyweds and their guests were well catered for!

With it being such a lovely day, Jack and Hannah managed to get some time alone (with me in tow, oh and also some photobombing youngsters!!) we still managed to get some lovely couple shots…as well as have a couple of games of limbo (standard newlyweds game there!) and then it was time for cake cutting and the first dance. Jack and Hannah, you guys were awesome and your wedding day was a chilled out, relaxed celebration of how perfect you two are for each other. You made me so welcome, as did all your guests, and I wish you a lifetime of happiness. Thanks for asking me to capture your Newton House Barns wedding!
