Katy & Ryan’s wonderful Rural Barn Wedding Photography

I had been really looking forward to this wedding, from the first point of contact with Katy & Ryan we just clicked, they had been really enthusiastic about my portfolio and had a very chilled out relaxed attitude towards their wedding, giving me free reign to capture natural reportage photographs throughout the day. With both the bride and groom getting ready at the venue and a ceremony time of 2pm it meant that the morning of prep was chilled out, with Katy getting ready with her mum and sister, and Ryan getting ready with his best man and groomsmen – plenty of bromances going on there!

The barn at Donington Park Farmhouse always looks just beautiful and so romantic for wedding ceremonies and Ryan’s face when he saw Katy walking down the aisle with her dad was very sweet. The ceremony itself was lovely and the happy couple signed the register with their brothers as witnesses before walking down the aisle as husband and wife. The drinks reception, confetti tunnel and group shots were all able to take place outside in the warm spring sunshine and we were also able to capture some beautiful couple shots in lovely rural surroundings.

Katy & Ryan had been very keen for me to capture their guests entering the wedding breakfast room, mostly to see the reactions of them all when they found their place names – the newlyweds had used photographs of their guests to show them where to sit and, true to their predictions, there were plenty of great reactions! A great idea to make the wedding extra personalised! The food as ever was very much enjoyed by the whole party and following this, there were speeches by Katy’s dad, the groom himself and best man. And all of them were full of laughter and embarrassing tales!

Breaking from tradition there was no cake to cut, so as the light started to fade the couple opened the dancefloor with a (very quick!) first dance before the balloons dropped and the party really got started. It was an amazing evening of plenty of dance moves and drinks, a fab celebration for the happy couple!

Katy & Ryan thank you so much for inviting me to your wedding, I had a blast and it was an absolute pleasure! I wish you the lifetime of happiness together that you deserve.
